Brief description of the work done by Marudhara Industries Association for industrial development and solution of industrial problems, promotion of capital investment and strengthening of the association

MOU between MIA & SIDBI Bank : Marudhara Industries Association and Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) have signed an MoU to provide loans to MSME industries at affordable rates, loans for setting up solar power plants, loans for machinery upgradation and other facilities to the members and entrepreneurs of MIA. Under this MoU, SIDBI will work to provide MIA members and other entrepreneurs with easy and convenient access to financial loans.

JAGSHANTI AUDITORIUM: With the inspiration and blessings of Honorable the then Chief Minister of Rajasthan Shri Ashok Gehlot, Marudhara Industries Association has constructed "Jagshanti Auditorium" equipped with modern facilities keeping in view the expansion of members and changing perspective in the present times.

This auditorium spans approximately 7,000 sq. ft. This multilevel auditorium is fully air-conditioned and equipped with a surround sound acoustic system, a mega-screen with laser throw projector, and a state-of-the-art sound system. Pushback auditorium chairs have also been installed. Its seating capacity is 352 Seater. The auditorium is constructed entirely of fire-resistant materials.

This auditorium is being used to organize national and international level seminars and training to benefit the entrepreneurs of the region.

Lata Ramesh Parekh Skill Development Centre: Marudhara Industries Association has constructed the “Lata Ramesh Parekh Skill Development Centre” on the first floor above the office block of the association with the help of Shri Ruchir Parekh of Hasti Petrochemical & Shipping Ltd. (Thar Dryport), a member unit of the association. This multipurpose skill development centre is being used to train young entrepreneurs and workers working in the industrial areas of the region, in which skill development training will be given to entrepreneurs and workers working in the industrial areas.

Both of these will also be used for skill development cum training programmes, promotion and development of traditional arts and handicrafts.

The Jagshanti Auditorium and Lata Ramesh Parekh Skill Development Centre were inaugurated on August 28, 2023, under the chief hospitality of Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot and the chairmanship of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr. CP Joshi.

The Jigyasu Conference Hall & MIA Secretariat Office : The Jigyasu Conference Hall  built by Marudhara Industries Association and the newly constructed Secretariat Office of MIA (equipped with modern facilities) have also been constructed, which was also inaugurated by the successful Chief Minister of Rajasthan State, Mr. Ashok Gehlot in the year 2014.

To prevent the migration of workers and to ensure that they do not go hungry during the Covid lockdown, ration items and food packets were distributed : As soon as the Covid-19 lockdown was announced by the Govt. of India, under the inspiration of former president Shri Sunil Parihar, MIA took the first initiative to help the workers and needy people working in the industrial areas. It did a commendable job to stop migration on a large scale and to ensure that the workers, their families and needy people do not go to sleep hungry, by distributing food packets and ration packets to them.

And his decision was appreciated by other industrial organizations including MIA, entrepreneurs and philanthropists and they continuously provided their financial support in this humanitarian work.

Marudhara Industries Association, with the financial support of industrial organizations, entrepreneurs and philanthropists, distributed 500000 food packets and 20000 ration material packets to the workers and needy people in the following areas of Jodhpur from 23 March 2020 to 31 May 2020 (total 70 days) during the lockdown period due to Corona pandemic.

In which it was distributed in areas including Jodhpur city assembly constituency, Soorsagar assembly constituency, Luni assembly constituency, Sardarpura assembly constituency, Basni village, Meghwalon ki Dhani, KK Colony, Rajiv Gandhi Colony, Shramik Colony and Bihari Colony, Sangaria, Tanwada, Sanjay Colony, Madhuban, Kudi Housing Board, Jhalamand, Kheme ka Kua, Milkman Colony, Shobhavton ki Dhani, Indira Colony, behind Sangaria Dharmkanta etc.

Along with this, they were encouraged not to panic due to the Corona pandemic and due to lack of transportation resources during the lockdown, thousands of labour families with small children, pregnant women, handicapped, widows etc. suffering and helpless labourers were encouraged not to migrate.

Due to the distribution of food packets and ration items by MIA, migrant workers decided not to migrate.

COVID Vaccination: The association, in collaboration with the Jodhpur District Administration, has provided all possible assistance to the district administration to prevent COVID in Jodhpur city, including the distribution of oximeters, concentrators, and oxygen cylinders. Additionally, various initiatives, including COVID vaccination, have been carried out periodically to benefit residents and entrepreneurs.

Promotion and marketing of the region's industry and handicraft products through fairs and exhibitions: The association has long experience in organizing fairs as the nodal agency for the Western Rajasthan Industry Handicraft Festival, organized jointly by the District Administration, District Industries and Commerce Centre and Enterprise Promotion Institute, for 15 years (1993, 96, 97, 2000, 01, 02, 2003, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2019, 2020 and 2023). These festivals were organized successfully and during this period it achieved the recognition of national level exhibition.

This association in collaboration with newspaper Dainik Bhaskar and Central Wool Development Board, Municipal Corporation, Jodhpur, Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) organized Marudhara Handicraft Shopping Festival-2007 and Gandhi Craft Bazaar for the promotion of handicraftsmen and marketing of handicraft products at Ravan Ka Chabutra Ground, Jodhpur (Rajasthan) from 27 October to 4 November 2007.

This association organized an employment fair and provided employment to unemployed youth in industrial and commercial establishments.

Organizing of discussions/seminars: The Marudhara Industries Association, in collaboration with various central and state government departments, periodically organizes discussions/seminars to provide entrepreneurs and young entrepreneurs with information and information about central and state government schemes related to industry. These seminars have also encouraged industrial development and expansion in the region.

Relief in Natural Calamity: Our association has also fulfilled its social responsibility by providing relief during natural calamities like famine, tsunami, heavy flood in Kawas of Barmer district etc. whenever required.

Promoting greening of industrial areas and environmental protection: Since 2000, the Marudhara Industries Association has been working tirelessly to green industrial areas and protect the environment. To date, it has planted over 25,000 saplings, nurturing them into trees. As a result, not only has the industrial areas become greener, but the area in front of AIIMS has also become greener.

The membership of this association has grown from 70 in the year 1983 to around 2000 today, covering all types of industries like engineering, stainless steel, handicrafts, textiles, minerals, guar gum, chemicals, plastics, stainless steel strips, stainless steel utensils, engineering industries, bentonite powder, fibre, stone etc. located in western Rajasthan.

Due to the efforts of Marudhara Industries Association, strengthening of infrastructure in industrial areas including Boranada Industrial Area, SEZ, Agro Food Park, EPIP, Sangaria Industrial Area, Stone Park, Kankani Industrial Area in Jodhpur has been strengthened due to which industries like handicraft, textiles, stainless steel, guar gum, sand stone, engineering etc. in Jodhpur have made their unique identity on the world stage.

This association has benefited entrepreneurs and youth by organizing medical camps for entrepreneurs and workers working in industrial areas, providing COVID vaccinations, and organizing large blood donation camps from time to time.

Achievements

HIGHLIGHTS OF MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS

In today's era of globalization, when the industries are hit by tough international competition, the role of Association has become more important. With the active participation and cooperation of honorable members, association has been full of activities for the service of industries. The association is always working for the well being of industries and industrialization in the State. The association is also fulfilling its social activities with the active participation & cooperation of association members. Marudhara Industries Association always made efforts for the development of Industries of Jodhpur as well as Rajasthan State. We made efforts for the following and they were fully successfully, which are ;

  1. Urban Haat at New Pali Road, Jodhpur : The first urban `Haat' project of Rajasthan was established in Jodhpur. The Small Scale Entrepreneurs, Local Artisans, Craftmen and cottage industrialists are getting an opportunity to sell their products throughout the year in this Haat.

  3. Special Economic Zone (SEZ): The 2nd Special Economic Zone of Rajasthan was established at Boranada, Jodhpur on 09.09.2003
  4. Stone Park, Jodhpur: The 1st Stone Park of Rajasthan was established at 9 Mile, Mandore, Jodhpur for the promotion of Jodhpuri sand stone & stone industries of Jodhpur
  5. Agro Food Park, Boranada, Jodhpur : The Second Agro Food Park was established & promoted at Boranada, Jodhpur  on 193.54 Acre in 1st Phase and 66.24 acres in 2nd Phase. Cost of Park has been estimated at Rs. 13.50 Crores. Govt. of India has sanctioned Rs. 3.87 Crores. Land has already been acquired and implementation is in full swing. No. of plots are planned 233 in 1st Phase and 78 in 2nd Phase.  The agro food park is well developed infrastructure with power & water supply in the area. Cold storage, warehousing etc.
  6. Export Promotion Industrial Park (EPIP) at Boranada, Jodhpur: Export Promotion Industrial Park was established at Boranada, Jodhpur on 21.07.2003.
  7. Primary Health Care Centre at Industrial Area : Primary Health Care Centre was established 15.06.2001 at Basni Ist Phase, Jodhpur for the welfare of industrial labors.
  8. Filter Water supply in industrial Area Basni & Sangaria: Water supply of Industrial area Basni & Sangaria was transferred from RIICO to PHED. The PHED started regular filter water supply in these industrial areas by the efforts of Association.

  16. Effots made for Establishment of Fire Brigade Station in Basni Industrial Area : Fire Station was established in Basni Industrial area on 26.04.2001 for control of increasing fire incidents in industrial areas.

Thus, our association is actively fulfilling its responsibilities in the industrial sector as well as the social sector.
